Kenneth J. Chaussee

Kenneth J. Chaussee, 74, of New Holstein died at his home on Saturday afternoon November 16, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on February 7, 1939 in Three Lakes WI son of the late Kenneth & D. Raeburn (Kennedy) Chaussee. He lived in Three Lakes until the age of 13 when he moved with his mother, Rae and his younger brother Tim to Ladysmith. Ken graduated from Ladysmith High School.

Ken was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from May of 1957 until August of 1969. During his duty he was stationed in Scotland, the Aleutian Islands, Arizona along with many other locations.

On January 18, 1974 he was united in marriage to Jeanne Jaschob in Menominee MI.

Ken was an over the road truck driver for several local companies for many years until his retirement in 2008. He had previously worked at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein. Ken's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting in his early years and feeding and watching the birds more recently. He enjoyed buying, selling and trading his cars and was always on the look out for his next good deal. Ken had a soft spot for dogs, especially his dogs, Bella and Maddie. He had a great sense of humor and seemed to give nicknames to everyone he knew. Ken was also a member of St. John UCC in New Holstein.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Jeanne, his children; Wendy (Kevin) Jacobs, St. Cloud, Heather (Rich) Gueller, Neenah, Jamie (Ilonka) Chaussee, CA, Cheryl Chaussee, AZ, Scott Kelley, CO. his grandchildren; McKenna Jacobs, UW LaCrosse, Hunter Jacobs, St. Cloud, Regan and Payten Gueller, Neenah, Kalin Chaussee, CA, Devin Shannon, Japan, Sara Leitch, AZ, Nicholas Chaussee, AZ. Great grandson; Hunter Leitch. Ken is also survived by his brothers; Tim (Sandi) Chaussee, New Holstein, Martin (Pat) Reynolds, Ladysmith, Dan Reynolds, Spokane, WA, Bob (Karen) Chaussee, New London, Tom Reynolds, NM, Ralph Acker, Wausau, his sisters; Terre (Tom) Nelson, MN, Lynn Chaussee (Griff Funk), Appleton, Deb Gregor, Ely, MN. Ken is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Harry (Karen) Jaschob, Ken (Kay) Jaschob, Gary (Linda) Jaschob, Jim (Mary) Jaschob, Judy (Mike) Salm, along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael, his in-laws; Harold & Jeannette (Boll) Jaschob.

Funeral services for Ken will be held at 5:00pm on Monday November 25, 2013 at St. John UCC (2111 Church St., New Holstein) with the Rev. James Werner officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 3:00pm until the time of services. According to Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial has been established in his name.

The family would also like to send a heartfelt thank you to special friend, Dave Bonde, NP for his compassionate care, advice and remaining at our side throughout. We would also like to thank Calumet County Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful support and loving care.
