Lois C. Buckman (nee Wolever) of West Bend, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the age of 84 years.
Lois was born on July 7, 1928, to Harry and Catherine (nee Rentmeester) Wolever. Graduated from Glenbeulah High School and then attended Moraine Park Technical College. After her mother's passing, she cared for her younger sister, Judy and brother, John. She married Merrit W. Buckman and later cared for her father and his brother, Willis while raising her family. Lois was a volunteer at Wash. Co. Mental Health Center as a Supportive Care Worker, Elder Peer Counselor and Clerk Typist from 1982-2003. She loved geneology and was the family genealogist for over 40 years. Lois was a charter member of WI Cemetery Assoc. Everyone who knew her called her "Ma".
Lois is survived by her husband, Merrit; children, Susan (Mike) Fischer, Lawrence (Anita), Paul (Annette), Michael, Mary (Paul) Fahey, Anthony, Andrew (Linda), Janet Josephson, and Catherine DeLuisa. She is further survived by 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brother, John (Mary) Wolever; sister-in-law, Pat Conger; special friends, Henrietta and Lorayn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by one son, one grandson, one great-grandson, brother, Clem Wolever, sister, Judith Schutta, parents-in-law, Roy (Dora) Buckman.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Newburg. Interment will take place at Wash. Co. Memorial Park of West Bend. Visitation will be at the Phillip Funeral Home of West Bend on Thursday, August 23, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to Midwest Dialysis (335 Mahn Court Oak Creek, WI 53154) or WI State Historical Society (816 State Street, Madison, WI 53706).
