Ploeckelmann, Mabel M.

Mabel M. Ploeckelmann, age 84, of 1446 W Washington Ave., Cleveland, was called to her heavenly home early Sunday morning, January 12, 2014, at her residence.

Mabel was born May 3, 1929, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Robert and Florence (Johnson) Staab. She attended St. Luke's Catholic Grade School and graduated from Washington High School. On October 25, 1969, she married her soul mate, Raymond Ploeckelmann, in San Diego, Calif., he preceded her in death on March 11, 2013. Mabel's greatest joy was spending time and making memories with her family.

Survivors include her children: Lana (Norman) Wilson, Kelly (Glen) Van Ess, Randy (Sue Strickland) Ploeckelmann, Bobbi Stauber, Craig (Debbie) Holland, Rodney (Wanda) Ploeckelmann, Sandra (Lenny) Mahuta, and Gaye Lynn (David) Shockley; one sister: Rosemary Bodart; one brother: Robert Staab; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; her in-laws: Barbara Ploeckelmann and Robert (Sue) Ploeckelmann; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister: Helen Riha and other extended family members.

Funeral services, officiated by Chaplain James Gilliam, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers. Mabel will be laid to rest, joining her husband, Raymond, in a private family entombment service at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to a memorial fund being established in Mabel's name.

Mabel's family extends a special thank you to Bonnie and Tom for their incredible support of Kelly's endeavor to care for her mom at home.
