Mabel M. Plagemann

Mabel M. Plagemann, age 84, formerly of School Hill, died Wednesday evening, September 12, 2012 at Manitowoc Health Care Center where she resided the past 2 years.

She was the former Mabel Hickman, born September 13, 1927 in the Town of Meeme, daughter of the late Philip & Mary (Koeser) Hickman.

Mabel attended Woodland School in School Hill.

On April 26, 1958 she married Henry H. Plagemann at Dubuque, Iowa.

Henry preceded her in death on August 2, 2003.

Mabel farmed in the Town of Meeme with her husband, Henry and also worked at Kohler Co. for many years until her retirement.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, crocheting, baking, especially her delicious peanut squares and playing cards.

Survivors include her children: Grant (Christa) Taylor, Osman, Archie (Cynthia) Plagemann, Bear Creek, WI, James (Kay) Plagemann, Watertown, Bernard "Bernie" (Cheryl) Plagemann, Manitowoc, Paul "Fritz" (Karen) Plagemann, School Hill and stepson, Russell (Caroline) Plagemann, Verona, WI.

She is further survived by 19 grandchildren, many great- great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Plagemann and two brothers; Arno (Lillian) Hickman and Edwin (Gertrude) Hickman.

Funeral services for Mabel will be on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10:00 am at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel with Rev. Melinda Feller officiating.

Burial will take place in Meeme Cemetery, Town of Meeme.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.

Mabel's family would like to extend their thanks to the staff & nurses at Manitowoc Health Care Center, especially Cozy Corners, for the wonderful care she received.
