Marcella Meyer, 85, of Sheboygan, went to be with the love of her life on their 60th wedding anniversary, Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Marcie was born April 20, 1927 in Sheboygan to Arno and Rose (Forster) Friedrichs.
On February 14, 1953, Marcella and Alexander Meyer were united in marriage at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Upon Al's retirement, they moved to Montana. After Al passed away in 1995, Marcella moved back to Sheboygan.
She volunteered at the Salvation Army and loved going to the Senior Meal Site with her friends. She enjoyed reading novels and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marcella is survived by her daughter, Deborah Gutoski; grandchildren, Kashia Gutoski-Evans, Marek Gutoski, Josef (Jessica) Gutoski; great-grandchildren, Mika, Lillianna, Gabriel, Leah, Chloe, and Truban; and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents and Alexander, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Aron and son-in-law Phil.
A memorial service will be held, Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Ballhorn Chapels and Crematory. Rev. Gregory S. Whelton, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family of Marcella would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of her caregivers, especially the staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and compassion shown to her.
