Marian R. Graskamp, 83, of 1923 North Tenth Street, Sheboygan passed away Saturday, September 8th, at St. Nicholas Hospital following a brief illness. Marian was born May 17th, 1929 in Sheboygan to Conrad and Natalie Schleining. Marian attended local schools, and on February 2nd, 1947, Marian married Earl Graskamp in Sheboygan.
A hardworking, caring, and loving mother, Marian was employed by several local companies including National Tinsel and Ebenreiter Furniture Company. Marian also worked at Thomas Industries and health issues later forced her retirement in 1992 after 22 years of service with the company. Afterward, Marian started and successfully operated Bingo Mania Bus Tours for several years until 2004.
During her lifetime, Marian enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, collecting angel figurines, swimming, traveling, growing flowers, crocheting, cooking, and watching TV and the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandson. She also loved taking care of her beloved pet cockatiel, Sweetie.
Marian is survived by two daughters, Karen J. (Michael) Klabechek of Sheboygan and Karla A. Worth of Cupertino, CA; three sons, Earl K. Graskamp, Gary L. Graskamp (Pam Gardapee), and Randal S. Graskamp; and son in-law Michael Klabechek, all residing in Sheboygan.
In addition, Marian is survived by four sisters, Hildegard Gabert of Sheboygan, Darlene Rabe, Prescott, AZ, Betty Acosta, Las Vegas, NV, and Nancy Schleining of Sheboygan. Her former husband Earl Graskamp, Sheboygan, and sisters-in-law Lorraine Bolgert and Helena Schleining, both of Sheboygan, also survive Marian.
Sadly, Marian also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kristie (Randall) Richter and Delbert (Melanie) Graskamp, both of Sheboygan, along with Adrianne (Todd) Foust, Ft. Mill, SC, and Brian Worth, Burbank, CA. In addition, special granddaughter Becky Lynn Weber always remained in Marian's heart, prayers and thoughts. Marian is also survived by the joy of her life, great-grandson Michael Jacob Richter. Marian also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Marian was preceeded in death by her parents, two brothers Arthur Bolgert, and John Schleining, and late brother-in-law Ed Gabert. Marian was also preceeded in death by an infant daughter, Diane Graskamp.
Funeral services for Marian will be held at 6PM on Wednesday, September 12th at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home(Novak-Ramm-Ziegler), 1535 South 12th Street, Sheboygan. Friends and family may visit from 4PM until the time of service. Cremation will follow memorial services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marian's name.
Marian's family would like to deeply thank Dr. Mark Hendricks, Dr. Marshall Matthews, Dr. Joanna Stephens and Dr. Chinwe Oraka for their efforts to save Marion's life. They would also like to thank both the St. Nicholas Hospital second floor ICU and fifth floor nursing staffs for their great dedication and tender loving care of Marian.
Marian's life of hard work, mental toughness, and struggle to raise her children will never be forgotten. She was an inspiration to many, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
