Nolden, Marie M.

Marie M. Nolden, age 96, of Sheboygan, died on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. She was born in Spring Valley, WI on September 23, 1916 to the late Paul and Kathryn Schram Hertel.

Marie attended local schools in the Spring Valley area in Manitowoc County. On September 27, 1947 Marie was united in marriage to Gilbert A. Nolden at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Gilbert preceded her in death on March 18, 2004. Marie was employed at various local establishments, retiring in 1982 from Ebco.

She was a member of the Christian Women's Society, D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans) and a current member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Marie enjoyed gardening, crafts, baking, cooking, crossword puzzles and walking. Marie was also a very talented seamstress.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean (Jay) Berenschot, of Germantown; two sons, Gary Nolden, of Manitowoc, Dale (Jennifer) Nolden, of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, Monique (Jeremiah) Bartsch, Stacy Nolden, Ethan Nolden, Janna (Eric) Sunstrom, Marcy Berenschot, Zachary Nolden, Molly Nolden, William Nolden, Grace Nolden; three great-grandchildren and her brother, Frederick Hertel, of Sheboygan. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and four brothers.

Private services for Marie have been held and entombment took place at Holy Cross Mausoleum.

A memorial fund has been established in Marie's name and may be directed to St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the 5th floor staff at St. Nicholas Hospital for the compassion and care that was given to her.
