Marjorie J. Kaat
Marjorie J. Kaat, age 92 of Kohler, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice surrounded by her three daughters. She was born on June 12, 1922 in Sheboygan, to parents John and Gertrude (Caan) Buhler. Marge was a graduate from Kohler High School. She worked as a Scheduler/Planner in the Kohler Engine Plant for almost 40 years. Marge was married to Charles Shaw, who preceded her in death. She was then united in marriage to William Kaat Jr. on May 12, 1956 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler where they were members. Bill died in February of 1976.
Marge was a kind, loving; mother, grandmother and great-grandmother always putting family first saying "I Love You" after each visit or call. She loved her TV and watching the GB Packers making sure family events were planned around game time. She loved reading and would listen to Gospel music. For years she and cousin Jean held season tickets to the Men of Harmony Christian Concerts series.
Marge is survived by three daughters; Judy (Ed) Mauer, Kathy (Bert) Lutzke and Sue (Dave) Prange. Eleven wonderful grandchildren; Tim (Stephany) Mauer, Curt (Kathy) Mauer and Lee Mauer; Wendy (Norm) Berger, Terry (Jon) Moeller, Robyn (Chris) Johnsen, Becky (Jason) Teckam and Josh (Tina) Lutzke; Nicole (Paul) Spencer, Renee (Shawn) Rankin, Tyler (Amanda) Prange. Twenty four loving great-grandchildren; Alex, Julia, Ryan; Alex, Abby, Emily, Sam, Maddie, Jack, Oona, Ezra, Henry, Stella, Jacob, Susan, Kyla and Ryan; Julia, Hope, Ian, Isaac, Shawn Michael, Ashley, and Thomas. A very special cousin Jean Sebald. Brother-in-laws; Eugene Mahloch and Bill Shaw, sister-in-laws; Gladys and Lorraine Shaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Willard, sisters Marion Mueller and Doris Mahloch, and grandson Scott.
Visitation at Bethany Lutheran Church, 222 Church St., Kohler on Saturday, August 23, from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. Memorial Service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Robert Steele presiding. Committal to follow at Woodland Kohler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Church or Sharon S. Richardson Hospice.
