Raymond William Wittneben III
Raymond William Wittneben III, age 72, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday evening, July 22, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 19, 1940 in East Meadow, Long Island, NY to Raymond and Carol (Wheeler) Wittneben, Jr. He attended local schools and Levittown Memorial High School.
Ray served his country in the US Air Force for three years, stationed in Texas, Idaho, North Africa, and Delaware.
On May 13, 1961 Ray and Carol Lee were united in marriage in Long Island, NY.
Ray was an avid baseball player for Triple A Minor League Baseball. He was employed by Northrup/Grumman Aerospace Company until his retirement. Following retirement Ray worked for Disney World in Florida, a job he truly loved.
In 2008 Ray and Carol relocated to Sheboygan where Ray enjoyed helping in his son's business, Wittneben Auto Service.
Ray loved any sports activities, especially golfing, fishing, bowling, and NASCAR Racing. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends at McDonald's. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving wife, Carol, he is survived by his children, Keith (Christine) Wittneben in Long Island, NY, Cindy Saunders of West Jefferson, NC, Raymond (Kaylene) Wittneben IV of Oostburg, WI, and Lee (John) Klein of Lakeland, FL; fourteen grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; his brother, James (Diane) Wittneben; his sister, Penny (Henry) Goetz, both of St. Augustine, FL; and his sister, Adele McAdams of Long Island, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Hart.
A memorial service honoring Ray will be held at a later date.
