Russell Bawden Obituary
Russell William Bawden, 96, of 1346 Mac Arthur Ave. formerly of 1423 N. 11th St., passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Morningside Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 21, 1915, in Ahmeek, MI, Russell was the youngest of seven children born to the late John and Jessica Lenten Bawden. He moved to Sheboygan with his family when he was 7 years old. He attended local schools and took some correspondence courses

On October 5, 1949, he was untied in marriage to Enid Stuart at Zion United Church of Christ. She preceded him in death on June 24, 1997 after 57 years of marriage.

He worked at the Kohler Company for 45 years, in the Engine and Generator Tool Room Division, as a Tool and Die Maker. During World WarII Russell made shells and torpedo tubes. After World WarII full attention was returned to making motors for peace time. Russell was sent to Worchester, Massachusetts to purchase machinery for precise grinding of tools to produce parts of motors to be exact. He retired February 14, 1980.

He was a active member of Grace Episcopal Church and was a former member of the church choir and the vestry. He was also a 25 year charter member of the Sheboygan Barbershoppers. He was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed league bowling, golfing and playing sheephead. He enjoyed his family and friends very much and will be missed by anyone who knew him.

He enjoyed making things with wood. Whenever we asked Dad if he could make a shelf, spoon rack, spicebox or breadbox, he always had time. We love you Dad and will miss you.

He is survived by his son Stuart (Mary) Bawden; his son-in-law Robert Holtz four grandchildren, Jon (Janet) Holtz, Angela (Jerry) Bougher, Robert Bawden and Andrea (Larry) Thill. He is further survived by four great grandchildren, Kayla Holtz, Ashley Holtz, Jacob Thill, Camilo Bougher; one great great granddaughter Ailey Holtz, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Enid, an infant son Robert, his daughter Eileen Holtz, his brothers, John, Irving and Nicholas Bawden and sisters, Margaret Abrahamson, Loretta Pantel and Evelyn Wolf.

A Requiem Mass for Russell will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 31,, 2012 at Our Lady of Grace Episcopal Church, 1011 N. 7th Street. The Rev. Dr. Karl Schaffenburg will celebrate the Mass. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will take place in Wildwood Cemetery.
