Westphalen, Scott E.

Scott E. Westphalen, 49, of Clam Lake, WI, passed away from an apparent heart attack on Thursday, August 15, 2013, in Glidden, WI.

Scott E. Westphalen was born October 14, 1963, in Chilton, WI, the son of Allen and Lorraine (Schweitzer) Westphalen. He graduated from Kiel High School in 1981 and then went to work in a factory for a short time. Scott began to drive truck over the road for Brennan Services and then began his career in carpentry. Scott loved building homes and learned how to build log homes while working with Greatwood Log Homes. Scott took this knowledge to the Philippines, where he began teaching how to construct log homes. Scott's work in the Philippines lead him to building homes in the Philippines and even constructing a log house and guest home for the President of the Philippines. Scott returned to Kiel, WI, where he began his own construction company, International Building Supplies. While working in Clam Lake, WI, Scott met Deanna Manning. Scott and Deanna were joined in marriage on September 1, 2012, in Clam Lake. Together they operated Tail Chasers Bar in Clam Lake in the summer and would drive over the road in the winter. Scott and Deanna traveled to 43 states in the U.S. and Scott had friends in every one of them. Scott enjoyed life and lived it exuberantly. His favorite past times were riding his Harley, fishing on Lake Michigan, hunting, visiting with his friends and spending time with his daughters.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Deanna; his two beautiful daughters, Sarah Westphalen and Natalie Westphalen, both of Kohler, WI; stepchildren, Courtney (Jeremy) Anderson; one granddaughter, Rylan; five brothers, Todd (friend Jaime) Westphalen, Ross (Lisa) Westphalen, Jeff (Girlie) Westphalen, Brad (Dawn) Westphalen, Chad (Tammy) Westphalen; three sisters, Brenda (Mark) Jasper, Julie (David) Meyer and Kristie (Alan) Sheahan; nieces and nephews, Nicole Westphalen, Tina (Matt) Salm, Ryan Westphalen, Derek, Jordan and Rachel Meyer, Marchie and Rogie Ventura, Vanessa and Bryan Westphalen, Melanie, Jacob and Emily Westphalen, along with stepnieces and nephews, Cassandra, Vanessa, Stephanie, Dylan, Amber, Marvin and Stephen; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth (Jennifer) Manning, brother-in-law, Tyler Manning; and niece-in-law, Linsay Manning.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and parents.

A memorial service celebrating Scott's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, at St. George's Church in Clam Lake. Another celebration of Scott's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, at Shadow's Bar in School Hill, WI.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Scott's family.
