Roberts, Thomas E

Thomas E. Roberts, age 82, of Sumac Road, Plymouth, WI passed away unexpectedly early Sunday Morning (Sept. 16) at his home.

He was born on March 17, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI a son of the late Thomas R. and Ruth Abshagen Roberts.

He attended Milwaukee area grade schools and graduated from Rufus King High School in 1949.

He served in the U.S. Marines from 1950-1952 serving in the Korean War.

He worked as a carpenter for 40 years in the Milwaukee area and was very proud of his union membership.

On September 26, 1953, he married Jean Gahan at Holy Redeemer Church in Milwaukee. They resided in Milwaukee until 1964 when they moved to Plymouth.

Jean preceded him in death on April 25, 2005.

He belonged to the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau since 1964.

He was a member on Sheboygan County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, serving as vice-president for several years.

He active in 4-H - as a project leader, general leader of Willing Workers for 10 years - He was President of the 4-H Leaders Association for one term.

He was on the Sheboygan County Farmco Board of Directors for many years.

He was a former member of Lakeshore Two Cylinder Club.

He loved his family, auctions and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include: His Children: Susan Roberts-McCabe (her Husband: Michael McCabe) of Plymouth, Daniel (Jane) Roberts of Plymouth, Dr. Sharon Roberts-Suchon (Her Husband: Sam Suchon) of Plymouth, Phillip (Sue) Roberts of Appleton, Sally (John) Houd of Black River Falls, WI, Nancy (Waitman) Slaughter of Plymouth, Penny Gosse of the Town of Lyndon; Eleven grandchildren: Michael and Brad Roberts, Meghan Roberts, Zachary and Joshua Suchon, Lane Slaughter, Nicole and Shawn Roberts, Cesar Moreno, Skyler and Cooper Gosse; Two Step Granddaughters: Michelle (Tim) Scanley (daughter Astella and Melissa (John) Ondrovcik; One Step Grandson: Jimmy Houd of Black River Falls, WI; Four sisters-in-law: Audrey Roberts of Menomonee Falls, Sue Fischer of Milwaukee, Virginia Gahan of Troy, MI, and Alice Gahan of South Port Orchard, WA

He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one son-in-law: John Gosse, two brothers: Kenneth Donald and one sister: Shirley Ann.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday Evening (Sept. 20) at 7:00 P.M.at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Inurnment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.

The Plymouth VFW World Cheese Center Post # 5612 will conduct military rites following the services at the Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4:00 P.M. on Thursday until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Tom's name.
