Willis (Bill) Wesley, age 90 of Sheboygan, died at Rocky Knoll Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
Bill was born on August 27, 1923 in Antigo, WI the son of the late William and Stefana Wesley and step mother Isobel Wesley. He attended schools in Antigo, WI. Bill enlisted into the Army Air Force (AAF) in 1942. While serving his country, he was stationed in Burma, India. While there he reached the rank of Corporal. Bill received a Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal and an Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal. On May 15, 1948 he was united in marriage to Minette Blaser in Green Bay,WI. They came to Sheboygan in 1964. Bill was employed with Consolidated Freightways for 39 years.
Bill was a member of St. Peter Claver Church, a member of the New Life Choir and an usher. He volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Sheboygan County Food Bank and served as an Eucharistic Minister at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Bill is survived by five daughters, Patricia (Al) Pugliese, Aurora, CO, Mary (Dr. Wahab) Kazi, Lake Mills, Amy Wesley, Aurora, CO, Julie (Dennis) Batts, New Holstein, WI and Caroline Wesley, Milwaukee; five sons, Paul J. Wesley, Milwaukee, Andrew J. (Rosa) Wesley, Antioch, CA, Peter (Janet) Wesley, Elkhart Lake, WI, Nicholas Wesley, Milwaukee and Matthew (Jody) Wesley, New Berlin, WI; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Geary, Napa, CA and Carol Edwards, Thiensville, WI and his dear friend Alice Miller of Sheboygan. He was preceded in death by his wife Minette, a brother Gene Wesley and sister Mary Helen Flood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Saturday, November 16, at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1444 S. 11th Street, Sheboygan with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. Burial will be in Blaser Cemetery, Chase,WI. Friends may call at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan on Friday evening from 4 until 7 P.M., and on Saturday at the church from 9 A.M. until the time of mass.
In preference to flowers a memorial fund has been established in Bill's name for Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin, and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
