Ronald M. Greger, age 80, of Sheboygan, died on Friday, January 24, 2014, at St. Nicholas Hospital. He was born in Sheboygan on December 5, 1933, the son of the late Milton and Louise Mayer Greger.
Ronald attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1952. On January 10, 1953 he was united in marriage to Joan Strahota in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2003. Ronald was employed at Honold & La Page as the Electrical Department Manager for many years: he then was a manufacturers representative for Rowe & Sons and DS Berry until his retirement in 1996.
He was a lifetime member of the Elk's Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. Ronald was a Green Bay Packer fan and an avid golfer as well. He also enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to Fort Meyers, FL and Las Vegas.
Survivors include his five children, Sue (Karl) Schappelwein, Timothy (Janine) Greger, Paula (Robert) Vreeke, Peggy (Brian) Ayers and Cathy (Glen) Rakow, all of Sheboygan; fourteen grandchildren, Shannon (fiancé Kirk Mayfield) Sargent, Jason Halverson, Jamie (Clayton) Wenger, Christopher (Jessica) Greger, Andrea Greger, Nicole (Terry) Hendrikse, Justin (fiancée Jennifer Ward) Craney, Krista Vreeke, Nicholas Ayers, Amanda (Chris) Medina, Jacob (Rebecca) Ayers, Samantha Ayers, Brandon Rakow and Ryan (fiancée Bridget Lambrecht) Rakow; also fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth (Caroline) Greger, Richard (Carol) Greger; and a sister, Helen Ruppel, all of Sheboygan. Ronald is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a sister, Mary Bergemann.
A funeral service for Ronald will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 4:30 P.M. at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan with Rev. Richard Cerpich, officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until the time of service at 4:30 P.M.
