Dolores Schwoerer, 99, daughter of Peter and Mary Ries, died Saturday, April 12, 2014. Dolores was born in Sheboygan on December 8, 1914, and united in marriage to Arthur Schwoerer October 24, 1934.
She was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross, Society of St. Vincent De Paul, St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary, Meadow View Manor, Better Films and many other organizations. As a younger woman, she loved to dance to her favorite polka music. In her retirement, she learned to golf and enjoyed traveling with many of her friends. She also enjoyed playing card games with her friends and family.
She is survived by six children; Carol Schwoerer of New Mexico; Marie (Bill) Schultz of Virginia, Roy (Sandi) Schwoerer of Green Bay, Elaine Schwoerer of Madison, Mark (Denise) Schwoerer of Middleton, Donald (Bonnie) Schwoerer of Oakfield; grandchildren Bob, Lindsey, Ryan (Britteny), Chad, Patrick, Jacob; great grandchildren Tyler, Andrew, Riley, Kali, and Adalaide.
She was preceded in death by husband Arthur in 1963 and son Arthur in 1969. Also preceding her in death were brothers Leo, Ray and Peter and sister Ethel Fahl.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1444 S. 11th St., Sheboygan from 1:00-3:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 28, 2014, at 3:00 PM, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 3909 S. 12th Street in Sheboygan.
