Jerome "Jerry" N. Fuhrmann, age 85, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on Thursday, April 24, 2014. He was born April 3, 1929, the son of the late Ervin and Louisa (Mueller) Fuhrmann.
He attended St. Joseph Grade School in St. Joe, Wisconsin and graduated from New Holstein High School in 1947. He furthered his education by obtaining his license in insurance and real estate brokerage. Jerry owned and operated Fuhrmann Realty for over 50 years as well as being employed by the Kohler Company.
On June 6th, 1953, Jerome and Dian Sass were united in marriage at St. Clements Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Jerry and Dian celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family in 2013.
Jerry was a longtime member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He was a member of the Sheboygan Board of Realtors and served as a Redskin Usher. Jerry was an accomplished Sheepshead player, an avid Wisconsin sports fan, and especially enjoyed baseball spring training.
Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren attending their concerts, sporting activities and events. He was blessed to know his two great-grandsons.
Jerry is lovingly survived by his wife, Dian Fuhrmann; children: Pam (Wade) Rickmeier, Karen (Richard) Wiczek, Glenn (Barbara) Fuhrmann, all of Sheboygan, Lori (Ken) Udovich of Kohler; grandchildren: Abby (Eric) Hawkinson, Andrea Rickmeier, Amy (Matt Schmidt) Rickmeier, Matt Rickmeier, Joseph Fuhrmann, Grace Fuhrmann, Carter Udovich, Elly Udovich, Evan Udovich, Natalie Udovich; great-grandchildren: Cameron Schmidt and Maxwell Hawkinson; sisters: Gladys (Karl) Kolb, Patricia (Peter) Sesing; brother-in-law, Carl (Wanda) Sass, and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and brother, Roger Fuhrmann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 807 Superior Avenue, Sheboygan with Fr. Cerpich officiating. Friends will be welcomed for visitation on Monday, April 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels & Crematory, 1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan and again on Tuesday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Sheboygan Police and Fire Department and the E.R. staff at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
The family has established a memorial fund in Jerome's memory.
