Jay R. Brandt, 55, of New Holstein, died unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, May 6, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.

He was born June 5, 1958 in Sheboygan, son of Roger & Lillian (Turba) Brandt.

Jay attended St. Ann Grade School & CPES and was a 1976 graduate of New Holstein High School.

He had previously been married to Jody Ruppenthal.

After high school Jay started working at Bremer Mfg., St. Anna & has continued to work there the past 38 years.

He was a member of the New Holstein Fire Dept since 1988 and was a very active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein.

Jay's greatest love was spending time with his family and many friends especially his grandchildren.

He was active in local sports, serving as an umpire and official. He enjoyed his time coaching, playing golf and playing softball for Flying Machine. Jay also enjoyed family trips, hunting, watching all Wisconsin sport teams, playing cards and was a past member of the local pool league.

Jay was a selfless man who helped any one in need, he was a great friend to all who knew him. Jay has given the gift of life by being an organ and tissue donor after his death.

Survivors include his children; Sarah (Don) DuBois & their daughter, Natalie, of Kaukauna, Jaclyn (Cory) Skjervem & their son, Connor of Madison & Michael Brandt, Los Angeles, CA. He is further survived by his girlfriend, Patti Lorbecki and her family, his parents, Roger & Lillian Brandt, brothers & sisters, Jeff (Julie) Brandt, Jan (Gary) Wagner, Jim (Amy) Brandt, Julie (Tim) Leon, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The funeral Mass for Jay will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Saturday May 10, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Anna.

Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery

Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until 1:45 pm when brief family rites will be held.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.

Jay's family would like to extend their thanks to the New Holstein First Responders, Kiel Ambulance, Chilton Gold Cross, Calumet Medical Center and St. Elizabeth Hospital for all their help.
