She was employed at Thomas Industries for 17 years, and most recently employed as a cashier with Fleet Farm.

Chris was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #149, and the HOG Chapter of Sheboygan County. Chris served as president of the Sheboygan Falls Booster Club for seven years, and was a Campfire council member and leader.

Chris enjoyed touring the country on her Harley with her husband and special friends Julie and Ted Hahn, she enjoyed being active with her children and grandson's sporting events, coaching baseball and wrestling, and was a football supporter. Chris also enjoyed fishing, bird watching, playing cards with Emmitt, spending time with her sisters, gardening, going to stock car races, and was a powder puff winner. She enjoyed family activities, and liked birthday and holiday visits. Chris was a two-time cancer survivor and will always be remembered for her courage.

Chris is survived by her husband of 40 years, Mark; her daughter, Anne (Tony) Krauter of Sheboygan Falls; her son, Patrick (Jocelyn) Melger of Sheboygan Falls; her very special nine year old grandson, Emmitt Krauter; two sisters, Kathy Walsh of Sheboygan and Judy (Tom) Winscher of Beaver Dam; six brothers, Fred (Debbie) Walsh of Sheboygan Falls, Andrew (Carol) Walsh of Batavia, Luke (Penny) Walsh of Fort Atkinson, Michael (Cheryl) Walsh of Plymouth, Paul (Paula) Walsh of Kiel, and Matthew (Cheryl) Walsh of Plymouth; brother-in-law, Craig Melger; sister-in-law, Dawn (Jeff) Voland; and former sister-in-law, Tammy Melger; her best friends, Tom and Marilyn Berlin, Julie and Ted Hahn, and Warren and Ann Faas. Chris is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James and John Walsh, her aunt Valeria, cousins, Robert, Rocky, Steve, and Jenny, her in-laws, John and Mary Melger, and her beloved dogs, Oliver and Lenny.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate Chris' life will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Fr. Dan Lasecki officiating. Relatives and friends may greet Chris' family at the church from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Chris' name for the Sheboygan Falls Elementary School PTO. Chris loved her grandson, Emmitt more than anything and would love to see the funds go to the children.
