Frank Udovich, age 97, husband of the late Ione Udovich passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Camillus Health Care Center, Wauwatosa, where he resided for ten and a half years. Frank was born on August 11, 1916 in Sheboygan to John and Theresa Udovich. He attended school locally at St. Cyril and Methodius Catholic School. Frank joined the Army where he proudly served his country during WWII and soon after was united in marriage to Ione Udovich at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in 1947. He was a lifelong member at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church where he also worked as the head maintenance engineer for over 20 years. Before working at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Frank worked for the Garton Toy Factory for many years. Frank was a very handy man, building up the second floor of the house which he was very proud of, as it was his parent's home and where he raised his own family. He was willing to help anyone with anything and was a very giving person. In his earlier years, he built his own boat where he developed a love for boating and would take his younger brother Albin for boat rides. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his entire family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and even all of the residents and staff at St. Camillus. He was able to go to the Handicap Cabin at Kohler-Andrae State Park for 6 years where he enjoyed time with his family and continue to grow even closer with his great-grandchildren. Later in his life Nancy and Patti took him to all sorts of different places, including home to Sheboygan, which he loved to do.
Frank is survived by his children, Ted (Sandy) Udovich of Sheboygan, Nancy (Tim) Januszko of Milwaukee, Patti (Dennis) Simons of Big Bend and Mary (Gray) Irwin of Culver City, CA; grandchildren, Jeremy (Brandy) Udovich, Lindsay Udovich, Christopher (Melissa) Januszko, Lisa (Ryan) Plautz, Nicholas Januszko, Gina (fiancé Duane Blaschka) Simons, Scott (Holly) Simons, Michael Simons, Andrew (fiancé Brianna Roeck) Simons, Joseph (Jessica) Irwin, Thomas (Christine) Irwin; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Liam and Rowan Udovich, Kaleb and Kierra Januszko, Hannah, Lucy and Tyler Plautz, Jeanette and Jon Irwin and Kayla and Caitlyn Irwin; brother, Albin (Ione) Udovich; sisters-in-law, Germaine Fox and LaVerne Rehrauer; nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy; brothers John (the late Mary) Udovich, Joseph (the late Theresa) Udovich, Anthony (the late Virginia) Udovich, infant brother and sister and great-grandson, Gavon Januszko.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1444 S. 11th St. Sheboygan, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Rosary Service at 11:30 A.M. and Mass following at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery with full military honors. A memorial fund has been established in Frank's name.
