Carol Ann Ensley

Carol Ann Ensley, age 62, died on May 28, 2014 in Charlotte, North Carolina, from complications of pancreatitis. She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, stepmother, grandmother and friend to anyone who got to know her.

Carol was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on December 22, 1951, to Dorothy and John Matichich. She had one brother, Michael John Matichich of Arlington, Virginia. She met her future husband Michael Ensley while a student in accounting at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. She and Michael were married March 1, 1975. Carol graduated with a BBA degree from Whitewater. She also secured a Medical Record Technology degree from Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, NC in 1985, was an accredited Record Technician, and worked for about ten years in the Medical Records Technology field.

Carol grew up in Sheboygan, but also lived in Milwaukee, WI, Magna, UT, Tucson, AZ, Houston, TX and Charlotte, NC, where she and Michael resided since 1981. She looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed audiobooks, walking, collecting teddy bears, going to movies, and eating healthy food. She loved nature, including the many squirrels and birds attracted to their backyard feeders. She also enjoyed participating in a fan club for Clay Aiken.

Carol had a kind, gentle soul and a playful outlook for everything she did. Her favorite teddy bear "Silkybear", was a great "helper" for any task needed around the house. Another favorite teddy bear was Alyce (the "Ticket Bear"), who was able to get outstanding tickets to concerts and other events.

Carol is survived by her husband, Michael Ensley, also of Charlotte, NC, her stepdaughter, Monica Leigh Ensley, West Allis, WI, and three grandchildren, Olivia Leigh Partenfelder, Age 10, Campbell Scott Partenfelder, Age 8, Mackale James Partenfelder, Age 6, all of West Allis, WI; her mother, Dorothy (Weber) Matichich, Sheboygan, WI, her brother Michael John Matichich of Arlington, Virginia and many cousins, an aunt and an uncle.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, John Frank Matichich, Jr, Sheboygan, WI in 2009 and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2705 S. 14th Street, Sheboygan.
