Betty Jane Pierce Obituary
Betty Jane Pierce

Betty Jane Pierce entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 30, 2014. She was born in Milwaukee on September 19, 1931. Betty was the daughter of Thorval and Doris (Holbrook) Olson. She graduated from Mattoon High School in Mattoon, Wisconsin. On September 23, 1950, Betty was united in marriage to Gordon E. Pierce at the First Baptist Church in Antigo, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2006. Betty attended the Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church and Faith Baptist Church in Plymouth, Wisconsin. Betty had several part-time jobs, but her greatest joy was being a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, walking, taking short trips, and participating in family gatherings. She was known for her warm hospitality and her desire to serve her Lord and others. Though she experienced years of physical suffering, she always demonstrated the reality of her Lord's love and grace. Amidst her discomforts, she will be remembered for her love for each member of her family, her faithful prayers, and for treasured time together at many family celebrations. Betty's love for Jesus Christ, as her Lord and Savior, was so evident as she impacted the lives of many with His love.

Betty is survived by her four daughters, Susan (Rev. Terry) Parks of Sheboygan, Diane Kaiser of Oshkosh, Jo Ann (Aurel) Gheorghe of Suwanee, GA and Lou Ann (Tony) Van Wyk of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Michelle (Andy) Kautzer, Andrew (Kristin) Parks, Jason (Brenda Givens) Kaiser, MM 2 (SS) Brian Vander Waal, Bradley Vander Waal; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb and Bethany Kautzer, and Elyse Parks; one brother, Warren (Peggy) Olson of Birnamwood, WI; one sister-in-law, Carol (Bud) Kaetterhenry of Schofield, WI, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon E. Pierce and her parents Thorval and Doris Olson.

Memorial services will be held TODAY, Monday, June 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Van Dixhorn will officiate. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private family burial to follow at the Hingham Cemetery.
