Hofschield, Evelyn A. (1919-2014)

Evelyn A. Hofschield (nee Schaap), age 94, of Plymouth, WI, passed away early Monday morning (June 16th) at Sharon S. Richardson Hospice where she had been a patient for the past 5 days.

She was born on September 19, 1919 in Town of Greenbush, WI, the daughter of the late Christian and Rena Van Sluys Schaap.

She attended Rathburn Grade School in the Town of Plymouth. Evelyn worked at Plymouth Canning Factory, Kraft Foods and then at Borden's Company in Plymouth.

On October 11, 1952, Evelyn married Gerald E. Hofschield in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

The couple has resided in the City of Plymouth after their marriage; moving to the Town of Plymouth in 1984.

She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth and the Dorcas Chapter in the church.

Evelyn and Gerald celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in October, 2007.

Gerald preceded her in death on October 6, 2008.

Evelyn enjoyed working on the yard and garden and loved so many flowers and birds. In her older years she loved talking on the phone with family and friends. She enjoyed coming to church with her special friends: Nancy Schmidt, Ayleene Grabow and Janice Hueppchen and loved all of her wonderful church family. She loved her special friends in her life, Wally and Grace Hecker; they were God's Heavenly Angels for her.

Survivors include one sister: Lena Lauer of Sheboygan Falls and one sister-in-law: Arlen Schaap of Sheboygan Falls.

Evelyn is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday evening (June19th) at 6:30 P.M. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth. Rev. William Rishel, Pastor of First Congregational Church of Christ in Plymouth, will officiate. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the CHURCH from 4:00 P.M. on Thursday until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Evelyn's name for Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or First Congregational United Church of Christ Memorial Fund.
