Kelly Mann, Ruth May (1927-2014)

Ruth May Kelly Mann, age 86, of Plymouth (Crystal Lake), WI passed away on the Fourth of July with a bang at Sheboygan Memorial hospital surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born on July 17, 1927 in Fond du Lac, WI to the late Hugh A. and Lucy E.(Gramlow) Kelly. She was a graduate of Fond du Lac high school class of 1946. It was there that she met and fell in love with her High School sweetheart David Milo Mann I.

While David served in the army during the occupation of Japan after WWII, Ruth worked for the Kiekhaefer Corporation as a secretary/bookkeeper. Also during that time she worked as an operator for the Wisconsin Telephone Company. Although her voice charmed many a caller, her letters and correspondence continued to flame the love and relationship with her High School sweetheart overseas. When David returned home after his service, they married in Fond du Lac in 1950 and immediately moved to Madison, WI. It was there that Ruth worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for both the Wil-Kil Corp and the Master Feed and Seed Company. She helped to support the young married couple while David finished his college education at University of Wisconsin on the GI bill. Shortly after graduation they moved to Milwaukee where Ruth found employment with the Nelson Patton Company and David worked for LaBudde Feed & Grain. It was during their time in Milwaukee that they were blessed with a daughter, Barbara Lucy.

In 1955 they moved to their eventual home town in Mt Prospect, IL where they lived for the next 36 years. It was where Ruth was able to focus on her true love and passion of raising her family by being a devoted wife and mother. Over the course of the years, Ruth was blessed with a daughter, Nancy Ruth, a son David Milo II and the caboose, Robert Charles.

With the children grown and on their own, Ruth again went back to work as a bookkeeper/accountant at Cereal Byproducts Company - a Feed Merchandising company until her retirement in 1991. She also was an active member of St Raymond's Parish in Mt Prospect, participant in the PTA, she was in the women's club, cheerleading coach, and Scout Leader. She cherished her family and friends, and enjoyed traveling around the world with her husband and their traveling buddies.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 64 years David Milo Mann, Daughter Barbara Lucy(William) Barcal, Daughter Nancy Ruth (Peter) Angelopoulos, Son David Milo II(Megan) Mann, Son Robert Charles (Margaret) Mann, Grandchildren William (Christine) Barcal, David Barcal, Andrew Barcal, Angelo Angelopoulos, Kelly Ruth Angelopoulos, Kathryn Barcal, Joan E.
