Terrance "Terry" Held, 66, of Kiel, died Monday afternoon, July 7, 2014 at his home after suffering an apparent heart attack.
He was born on September 4, 1947 in Sheboygan, son of the late Herbert & Florence (Nennig) Held.
On June 17, 1970 he married Arlene Schwinn at St. Wendel Catholic Church.
Terry worked for many years at Johnsonville Meats.
He & Arlene later moved to Kiel where they owned and operated Held's Bar until 1995. After retirement he kept busy bartending at MC's in Kiel and by his son, Held's Bar in Deerbrook.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years, especially rabbit hunting with his beagles. More recently Terry enjoyed bird watching and feeding the wildlife at his home.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Arlene of Kiel, one son, Chris (Molly) Held, Deerbrook, WI, two grandchildren; Garett & Gabby and two brothers; Jerry (Cheryl) Held, Plymouth & Jim (Gail) Held, Slinger. He is further survived by one sister-in-law, Rosie Bushman (Roger), three brothers-in-law; Charles (Marie) Schwinn, Jim (Julie) Schwinn, Leonard Schwinn, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Bergetta Schwinn and brothers-in-law, Gerald (Jola) Schwinn and Ray Bushman.
Funeral services for Terry will be held at 6:30 pm on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel with Deacon Pat Knier officiating.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 pm until 6:15 pm when brief family rites will take place.
