Jean M. Petermann
Jean Marie Petermann, age 86, of the Town of Wilson, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Kewaunee, WI on July 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Melvin and Elizabeth Allan Axel.
Jean attended local schools and Sheboygan Central High School. On November 17, 1945 she was united in marriage to Carlton O. Petermann in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2005, just after celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
She was employed at Wigwam Mills as an Inspector for many years. In addition to spending time with her family, Jean enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading, biking, crocheting, sewing and knitting. Not only was Jean a wonderful mother and grandmother to her own family, she extended that love onto others which in return gave her an even larger family.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane (Tom) Kramer, of Fond du Lac, Linda (Edward) LaBlanc, of Howards Grove, Carolyn (David) Heinen, of Sheboygan Falls, Kathleen (Chad Sertich) Kau, of Manitowish Waters, Mary (Rick Benirschke) Petermann, of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Patricia (James) Meyer, Dennis (Debra) Gephart, Michael (December) Gephart, Deana (Mark) Schmidt, Rebecca Clayborn, Carlton (Gloria) Heinen, Amy (Mike) Liermann, Christopher (Dez) Kau, Andrea (Ben Deehr) Kau, Joseph (Tiffany Winscher) Benirschke, Jessica (Dan Drtunner) Gutierrez and Hayley Benirschke, twenty-five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and her sister, Mary Lou Neese. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Virginia Salvin and two brothers-in-law, Art Salvin and Kenneth Neese.
A funeral service for Jean will be held TODAY, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 12:00 P.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1634 Illinois Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Adam L. Scheblein, officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M.. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff at St. Nicholas Hospital and St. Nicholas Home Hospice.
