Elaine D. Dedering, 86, of 913 Buchanan St. Kiel and most recently of Oak Creek Assisted Living in Kiel died peacefully Friday afternoon June 29, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
She is the former Elaine Nohl, born August 10, 1925 daughter of the late William & Selma (Karstedt) Nohl. She attended Johnsonville grade school and graduated from Howards Grove High School.
On September 18, 1948 she was united in marriage to Elroy Dedering at Saron UCC in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. Elroy preceded her in death on November 28, 2010.
Elaine was employed at Cleveland Container Corp of Plymouth, Seifert Mfg. of Kiel and Zielanis Elementary School in food service until her retirement in 1989.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, where she was an active member of the Womens Guild and had helped to organize the serving of funeral luncheons. She also taught Sunday School and sang in the Mendelssohn Choir. In her free time she enjoyed doing craft work, bowling, dancing, golf and playing cards.
Survivors include her three children; David (Jean) Dedering, Dennis (Mary) Dedering, both of Kiel, Lu Ann (Tim) Otte, Frederic WI. nine grandchildren; Kara (Zachary) Wolf, Krista Dedering and special friend Mike Watson, Patrick Dedering, Jennifer (David) Grant, Timothy (Jennifer) Dedering, Nicole (John) Kiss, Laura Dedering and special friend Kellen Grott, Adrianna (Mike) DeBoer, and Kali Otte. Elaine is further survived by great grandchildren; Darrin Grant, Max Dedering, Samuel & Lilly Ann Kiss, She is also survived by sisters-in-law; Valeria and Sally Nohl along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Elroy, her parents, sisters; Leora (Harvey) Hanke, Mildred (William) Roehl, Adeline Fasse, brothers; Lester, Orville (Mary) and Roland Nohl. Sister-in-law; Arlyne (Gilbert) Hansen, niece; Judy Winkelman, nephew; Bill Nohl.
Funeral services for Elaine will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday July 2, 2012 at St. Peters UCC, 424 Fremont St. Kiel with Rev. Judine Duerwaechter officiating.
Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 4:00 pm until the time of services.
Burial will take place in the Kiel City Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in Elaines name.
Elaines entire family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Oak Creek Assisted Living as well as Home Care Health Services and Hospice of Manitowoc for the wonderful care she received.
