Robert Lee Miller passed away peacefully in the home of his daughter on November 24, 2012 at the age of 90 years.
Robert was born to Alfred and Lucille Miller on February 12, 1922 in Sheboygan. After graduating from Plymouth High School and while attending the University of Wisconsin in Madison, World War II began. Robert enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served as a pilot in England during most of the war.
Robert married Doris Eigenberger on May 26, 1943. They were life partners for 67 years, raising 6 children, enjoying family camping, a summer cottage on Crystal Lake, sailing and traveling, and spending winters in Florida.
Robert served as an unwavering example of love, integrity, hard work and ingenuity for his family and others. His legacy lives on in his children, Jeff Miller, Martha Gritt, Kristin Schmidt, Paul Miller, David Miller and Laurie Weinbauer as well as 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Al Miller and his sister, Charlotte Halverson.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth at 11:30 A.M. Father Dan Volkert, pastor of the church, will officiate. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Saturday (Dec. 15) from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery. The VFW World Cheese Center Post #5612 will conduct military rites at the cemetery following the services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Robert's name for the wounded and disabled veterans.
