Patricia (Binversie) Scharrer

Patricia (Pat) Scharrer, age 80, of Sheboygan passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 6, 2013 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Pat was born August 22, 1932 at the Binversie farm home in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County to the late Nicholas and Catherine (Koenig) Binversie. Pat was united in marriage to Walter Scharrer on June 23, 1956 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill.

Pat was quiet, but her compassion spoke louder than words. Her family and friends knew her as a selfless, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was her life and she was the glue that held them together. Like a soft pillow, she caught them forgivingly when they fell. Together, Pat and Wally gifted their family with faith, strength, compassion, generosity, and courage. She has also inspired her family as a Breast Cancer survivor.

Pat was a homemaker, who lovingly cared for her children, grandchildren, and others. She was dedicated member of St. Dominic Parish for most of her life. Over the years, Pat enjoyed cooking/baking, gardening, painting figurines, volunteering, and attending her children and grandchildren's events. She never missed an opportunity to send thoughtful cards on special occasions and holidays. Completing word searches, watching her "stories," and going to parades were some of the little things in life that she loved the most.

Pat is survived by her husband Walter, children Stephen (Ann) Scharrer, Sandra (Larry) Senkbeil, Barbara (Richard) Peterson all of Sheboygan, WI, Thomas (Vicki) Scharrer of Menomonee Falls, Kurt (Amy) Scharrer of Brillion and Nicholas (Tammy) Scharrer of Sheboygan, WI; grandchildren, whom she loved to spend time with, Theresa (Erik) Rundquist, Jacque, Angie and Tim Scharrer, Stacy (Joey) Van Caster, Ryan Senkbeil, Emily and Nathan Peterson, Ashley, Matthew, Samantha and Benjamin Scharrer, Sydney, Lucas and Madalyn Scharrer and a great-granddaughter Sophia Van Caster.

Pat is also survived by her brothers and sisters Leander Binversie of Wheeling, IL, Joan Nilges of Kansas City, KS, Agnes Wiltzius, Cecelia (John) Smolic, Dominic Binversie of Sheboygan, WI, Betty (Ken) Biese of New Holstein, WI; sisters-in-law Rita Binversie of St. Nazianz, WI and Casilda Binversie of Sheboygan, WI; and brothers-in-law Herbert (Kathy) Scharrer of Sheboygan, WI and John (Barbara) Scharrer of Colorado Springs, CO . Pat is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters Alfred Binversie, Fr. Bernard Binversie, Ted Binversie, Art (Gertrude) Binversie, Myra (Eddie) Hanneman, Monica (Pius) Reinbold, Elmer Nilges, Frank Wiltzius and Pat Binversie.

Family and friends may call at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 2136 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan on Thursday from 9-11 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 11 A.M. at the church with the Father Philip Reifenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.
