Robert T. Johnson, Plymouth, passed away on the 25 day of April, 2013, at the age of 97 years.
Mr. Johnson, affectionately known as "Bob" by all those that knew him and even by those who did not, was born in Milton, WI, on June 3, 1915, the son of the late Elwyn & Ethel (McDowell) Johnson, with his 3 siblings, Harvey Johnson, Roger Johnson, & Elizabeth (Skelley) Johnson, predeceasing Bob.
Bob's beloved wife, Charlotte A. Johnson, predeceased Bob, passing away on May 2, 2005.
Bob attended Milton high School and Milton College, graduating with a B.S. Degree, in chemistry, and physics in the year 1936. While in College, Bob met the love of his life, Charlotte A. Hubbard and they were married on September 19, 1939.
After residing in Thiensville, Appleton and Adell, Bob & Charlotte moved to Plymouth, Wisconsin, in the year 1952. During his working life, Bob was employed at Pabst Brewing Company as a chemist, as well as at Plymouth Industrial Products and Plastics Engineering Company where Bob was a plastics chemist consultant, providing various Client companies with engineering expertise in the plastics manufacturing process. At the age of 67, Bob "retired". After his retirement, Bob studied the Law of Patents, by home study and taking Patent Courses and General Law courses at the American Extension School of Law, where he obtained a Bachelor of Law (L.L.B) Degree. At the age of 69 years, Bob took & completed the Certification required by the Untied States Patent Office and he was then admitted to the Bar of the Untied States Patent Office, as a Regiered Patent Agent, with full & plenary powers to practice the Law of Patents, before the United States patent Office in Washington, D.C. Bob practiced the representing many & varied patent applicants and obtaining many Patents for his Clients over the 28 years of Patent practice.
Bob was a member of the Plymouth Kiwanis Club and had memberships in various Patent related groups such as the Wisconsin Intellectual Property Association.
During their 66 year marriage, Bob & Charlotte had 4 sons, all of whom survived Bob, they being Jeffery L. (Virginia) Johnson, of Vermillion SD, Ted B. (Betty) Johnson, of Fox Point, WI, R. Scott (Amy) Johnson, of Watertown, WI, and Michael H. (Bobbie) Johnson, of Naperville, IL, as well as 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Residents of the Plymouth area will have remembrance of Bob & Charlotte out on their daily walks with Bob always dressed in his suit & tie, no matter the weather or the time of year.
Funeral services will be held at the Schneider Funeral Home (123 South Street) Plymouth, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in the of Bob Johnson for the Plymouth Intergenerational Center.
