Jeffrey Gene Henschel, age 49, died unexpectedly May 1, 2013 in Spring, Texas. He was born June 22, 1963 in Neenah, WI to Gene Julius and Marlene Edna (Schubert) Henschel. He attended Elkhart Lake Grade School and was a graduate of Elkhart Lake High School, Class of 1981. He received his degree from Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac, WI in 1992 as a Programmer/Analyst. This began his twenty year career in the Information Technology field, largely in the Hotel/Resort/Hospitality industry.

Jeff continually maintained his level of competency in the ever changing IT field, receiving many certifications and awards in installation, help, support and management. In 2012 Jeff became one of the forerunners in the industry by earning a certificate in PCI Compliance/Security Systems. He was a highly innovative individual with a proven ability to grasp business needs and apply his computer expertise to deliver prudent solutions.

Currently Jeff was employed as Director of Information Technology for Benchmark Hospitality International in Texas. He previously worked as the VP of IT for Destination Hotels and Resorts in Engelwood, CO, Marcus Corporation in Milwaukee, WI and the Appleton Post Crescent.

His activities included golfing, hunting, fishing, jewelry making, and cooking. His love of travel took him to many destinations around the world throughout the years.

On October 5, 2008 Jeff and Rita Morgan were united in marriage in Estes Park, CO.

In addition to his wife, Rita, of Spring, Texas, (formerly of Elkhart Lake, WI) he leaves behind his parents, Marlene and Gene Anderson of Kiel, WI, his brother and sister-in-law, Jerrod and Toni (Perry) Henschel of Elkhart Lake, his niece, Sofia Henschel of Elkhart Lake, his mother-in-law & father-in-law, Gary & Judy Stegeman of Austin, TX,(formerly of Sheboygan, WI), his sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Mike Curry of Kiel, WI and Cindy and Jack Rolbiecki of Kiel, WI, his brothers, Rick Anderson of Madison, WI and Steve Anderson of Waukesha, WI, his sister-in-law & brother-in-law Julie & Nick Van Egmond of Foothill Ranch, CA, brother-in-law, Rick Stegeman of Pewaukee, WI and nephews, Tyler & Dillon Stegeman, both of Pewaukee, WI, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Scott & Bethany Perry, Myrtle Beach, SC, niece, Sidnee Perry, Myrtle Beach, SC, and his Godchild, Katie Starnitcky of Glenbuelah, WI. He is also survived by uncles and aunts, Richard and Sandra Henschel, Willie and Berneda Wittek, Derold and Yvonne Schubert, Bernard and Arlis Henschel, Marlow and Marjorie Schubert, and Lucinda Schubert; cousins, Tim Feldmann, Tom, Denise and Seth Feldmann, Justine Feldmann, Jason and Tina Schubert, Eric and Trista Johnson, Paul and Vicky Kaczmarek, Jim and Kim Henschel, Jeremy Henschel, Alan and Carol Schubert, Michael and Amanda Schubert, and Scott Starnitcky (whom he regarded as his second brother); numerous other second cousins that he loved dearly and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Henschel; his paternal grandparents, Julius and Marion Henschel; his maternal grandparents, Rudolph and Edna Schubert; his uncle, Myron Schubert; and his cousin, Taylor Feldmann.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Paul Christian Church, W7101 Sexton Road, Elkhart Lake, WI 53020. Pastor Keith Hunholz will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial fund has been established in the name of Jeffrey G. Henschel.
