Kenneth Koeppler was born December 25th, 1931 in Sheboygan to Rueben and Anita (Sixel) Koeppler. He attended Grant School and was a 1950 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin Sheboygan Extension and University of Wisconsin Madison. From 1953-1955 he served his country as Morse code operator for the 82nd Airborne. In January, 1956, he attended the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Camp McCoy. He graduated from the academy in March, 1956. Kenneth served the Wisconsin State Patrol as an officer for 17 years. He finished the remainder of his 30 year career as an investigator for the Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Department.
On April 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to June B. Brasaitis at Immaculate Conception Church. They had 4 children Ann, Steve, Kathleen, and Mark. Kenneth had a passion for the outdoors and spent much of his time in northern Wisconsin. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Many special memories were made with his sons during visits to northern Wisconsin.
He also developed a love for driving stemming from his days on the patrol. Ken spent many hours driving his Chevy trucks through the countryside. Kenneth also enjoyed spending time with his special friend Belva Mitwede. Together they enjoyed numerous travels throughout the United States and Italy. They also enjoyed holiday gatherings and visits with Ken's children and grandchildren. They also spent many hours going for walks together in the company of their special dog Abby. Ken is survived by his sons: Steve Koeppler of Elkhart Lake, Mark (Kim) Koeppler of Two Rivers; daughter, Ann (David) Biegen of Cutler Bay, Florida; special friend, Belva Mitwede, of Fond du Lac and 5 grandchildren: Natalie Biegen of Cutler Bay, Florida, Eric Koeppler of Manitowoc, and Jenna, Joshua, Breleigh Koeppler of Two Rivers. Ken was preceded in death by his wife, June Koeppler in 1995 and his daughter, Kathleen Koeppler in 2005.
A Memorial Service for Ken will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Ballhorn Chapels and Crematory, 1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan. Visitation will be held from 3:30p.m. until the time of service.
