Mary Lillian Stubenrauch, age 85, passed away at Plymouth Care Center on Friday morning, September 13th, 2013 after a short illness. She was born in Sheboygan on June 29, 1928 to Edgar A. and Lillian (Tasche) Stubenrauch of Lake Court, Sheboygan. Mary attended US Grant Elementary School and was a 1947 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, class of 1952, with honors as a medical technician. While in Madison, she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and Alpha Delta Theta, a professional sorority for medical technologists. After graduation, Mary was a practicing medical technologist in several hospitals in California before returning to Wisconsin to live and work in Milwaukee. She also often accompanied her parents on their many travels. Upon retirement she returned to Sheboygan to live in the family home.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar A. and Lillian (Tasche) Stubenrauch; her brother, Dr. Phillip and sister-in-law, Gloria Stubenrauch; nephew, John Stubenrauch; and brother-in-law, George S. Goodell.
She is survived by her sister, Anne Stubenrauch Goodell of Lakewood, Ohio; niece, Margaret Goodell (Patrick Kennedy) of Sheboygan; and nephews, John (Joanne) Goodell of Lakewood, Ohio, Bryan (Bonnie) Stubenrauch of Kaysville, Utah, and David (Heather) Stubenrauch of Phoenix, Arizona.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Brett Matz, pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery.
