He was born on May 4, 1918 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Bernard and Clara (Butler) Ross. Roger and his brother, Robert, were the first set of twins born at St. Nicholas Hospital. Following retirement, he became a dedicated volunteer with the St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary, putting in more than 5000 hours, most of that time being of service in the ER. His most recent and memorable joy occurred on November 3, 2012 as he participated in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight and he would gladly share his stories of that day with anyone who wanted to listen.
