Lois R. Ten Pas, 89, of Oostburg, went home to the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2013, at Cedar Grove Gardens where she had resided for the past two years.

Lois was born on July 19, 1924, in the Town of Holland, the daughter of William and Nettie (Beernink) Kranendonk. On November 30, 1945 she married Ralph Brill in Cedar Grove. Ralph preceded her in death on September 7, 1955. On July 6, 1957, she married Kenneth M. Ten Pas in Oostburg. Kenneth passed away on June 10, 1997. Lois was a devoted homemaker and operated a dairy farm with her husband in the Town of Holland.

Lois was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg and formerly the First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove. While in Cedar Grove she was active in the churchs' women's organization, choir, served on the session as an elder, and as a Sunday school teacher. She continued her active church volunteer activities while at Oostburg. Lois was also a member of the Sheboygan County Farm Bureau, the Homemakers Club and was a volunteer at Christ Church in Milwaukee by sewing for church members there.

She enjoyed sewing, singing, was an avid reader, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble, canning, and baking. Lois was especially remembered for her delicious homemade pies.

Lois is survived by her five children, Mark (Mary) Brill of Oostburg, David (Wayve) Brill of Atlanta, GA, Kathleen Brill of Atlanta, GA; Daniel (Alice) Brill of Cedar Grove, and Sara Colvin of Sheboygan ; 13 grandchildren, Julie (Peter) Bliesner, Cathy (Marc) Baucom, Aaron Brill, John (Michelle) Brill, Jesse Brill, Nettie Brill, Adam (Amanda) Brill, Andrew (Jamie) Brill, Heidi Brill, Levi (Caity) Brill, Samuel Colvin, Rachel Colvin, and Mary Colvin; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Jim (Nancy) Kranendonk of New York; four sisters-in-law, Jean Ten Pas of Oostburg, LaVonne Paige of Madison, Miriam (Norman) Heinen of Gibbsville, and Cathy Kranendonk of NJ; and two brothers-in-law, Carl Wassink of Terre Haute, IN and Paul (Donna) Ten Pas of Kohler.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ralph Brill, her second husband, Kenneth Ten Pas; one sister, Joanne (Rev. Marion) Zenke; and two brothers, Roy and Rev. Paul Kranendonk.

Funeral services to celebrate Lois' life will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Oostburg with Rev. Brian Jacobson officiating. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call at the church on Sunday from 1pm until the time of service at 3 pm.

A memorial fund has been established in Lois' name for the Oostburg Public Library.
