Wagner, Alice A.

Alice A. Wagner, age 94, a resident of Laurel Grove, died on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Alice was born on June 16, 1919 in the town of Centerville, daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Ziebell) Schomburg. She attended LaFollette School in Centerville. Alice was united in marriage with Norman Wagner on May 3, 1941 at St. John's Reformed Church near Newton. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1998. The Lord blessed the marriage with four children. They farmed in the area until their retirement in 1980 when they moved to Manitowoc. Alice enjoyed her ladies card clubs and spending time outside and took great pride in her flower garden and maintaining her yard. She loved being a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Judy and Ken Bruckschen, Cleveland, and Jane Janz, Wausau; one son and daughter-in-law: Emmett and Sandy Wagner, Manitowoc; one daughter-in-law: June Wagner, Kellnersville; 11 grandchildren: Daniel (Tina) Wagner; David (Tricia) Wagner, Kristin Wagner, Michael (Renee) Bruckschen, Randall (Sharon) Bruckschen, Troy (Dawn) Bruckschen, Tom (Arlana) Wagner, Brian Wagner, Dana (Tim) Klotz, Tracey (Tim) Karlen, Lisa (Todd Rettkowski) Lemke; 25 great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one son: Ronald Wagner; one son-in-law: Art Janz; one infant great grandson; one sister: Lorraine (Henry) Schwinn; one brother: Raymond Schomburg; and three brothers-in-law: Robert Oehldrich, Harvey (Lorena) Wagner and George Wagner.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be the Rev. Thomas Pankow with burial at St. Johannas Cemetery in Cleveland.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

A memorial fund will be established in Alice's name.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to extend a thank you to Laurel Grove and Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for the excellent care they provided for Alice.

Alice's family is so grateful for the special people that always made sure that Alice was able to go to church.

To the family of Alice Wagner
So sorry to hear of your loss. I attended the same church as Alice and can remember her coming faithfully every Sunday even when it appeared to be difficult for her to get around. She was a remarkable lady. My prayers are with your family.
