Gueldenzopf, Robert L.
Robert L. Gueldenzopf, 87, of Sheboygan passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Beach Health Care Center.
Robert was born on October 18, 1926 in Alma Center, WI to Ralph and Elsie Gueldenzopf.
He attended local Alma Center schools before moving to Madison, WI, where he graduated from Madison West High School, Class of 1944. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before attending the UW Madison-School of Business, graduating in 1949.
On August 19, 1950, Robert and Martha Diane Henning were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church in Madison.
Bob worked in public and private sectors of the accounting field for several years before settling with his family in Sheboygan. He joined the Plenco family as a CPA and worked for the company for 37 years. Bob retired as the Controller for the company in 1993. Bob was a member of the Sheboygan Elks Club and Jaycees Club. He was also a member of First United Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council as church treasurer, and as a Sunday School teacher.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Allen H. (Audrey) of New City, NY, Stanley R. (Susan) of Denver, CO, and Dale L. (Kathy) of Sheboygan; grandchildren, Lisa and Ethan Gueldenzopf, Samantha (Dan) Brunson, Kristin, and Geoffrey Gueldenzopf; great-grandson, William Robert Brunson; and other family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John P. Gueldenzopf, Phyllis Haugen, and Donald R. Gueldenzopf.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Robert's name for the UW Madison-School of Business and First United Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. Rev. Todd W. Smith will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held on Tuesday at the church from 10:00am until the time of service.
