Wilbert, Eileen V.

Eileen V. Wilbert, 87, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday morning, August 19, 2014 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center where she had been residing.

Born December 31, 1926 in Sheboygan, Eileen was a daughter of the late John and Emily Dietz Maertz. On June 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Walter G. Wilbert at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. They were married for 58 years before Walter preceded her in death on October 23, 2004.

Eileen worked in the housekeeping department at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for 25 years. She enjoyed embroidery and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Turk, North Pinellas Park, FL, and David Wilbert, Town of Lima; nine grandchildren, Lori, Christine, Paul, and Timothy (Megan), Tonya (Edward), Ryan (Julie), Tara (Eric), Sasha (Aaron), and David, Jr.; thirteen great grandchildren, Ella, Chloe, Olivia, Sophia, Anna, Mariah, Felicia, Amber, Brandon, Tiffany, Stephanie, Matthew and Therese; one great great grandchild. Besides her parents and husband, Walter, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gary (Janice) and Tom Wilbert.

Funeral services for Eileen will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Alan Kretschmar will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Eileen's arrangements.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sheboygan Progressive Care Center, Hospice Advantage and and especially Elaine Zeinemann for all of their loving care and support shown to Eileen and her family.
