Roger E. Alberts, 82, of Danville was called home into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ at 6:29 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2015. at Presence United Samaritan's Medical Center. A visitation will be on Monday, March 30, 2015. at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville from 10-11:30 a.m. Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Roger will be laid to rest at Allhands Cemetery in Kickapoo State Park at 10am, Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

Roger was born on March 7, 1933, in Sheboygan, WI, the son of John L. and Martha (Kurz) Alberts. Roger married Mary Roorda on November 25, 1955, in St. Louis, MO. Roger worked for Larson Plywood Co. of Sheboygan prior to being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1956. He was honorably discharged in 1958, after serving two years at Fort Sam Houston. Returning to Sheboygan, he worked about five years at JJ Koepsell Co. before going to Honold & LaPage, retiring from there in 1996. Since moving to Danville in 1997, Roger volunteered at Grace & Truth, Inc. He gathered with the believers at Hillery Bible Chapel. Roger treasured his wife and family, expressing even in his last days how special they were to him.

Roger is survived by his wife and four children, Barb (Tom) Day of Plymouth, MN; David (Sue van Dijk) Alberts of Maple Grove, MN; Gary Alberts of Apple Valley, MN; and Paul Alberts of Danville. He is also survived by six grandsons, Jon (Jessica) and Joshua Day, Daniel, Stephen, Philip, and Nathan Alberts; one great-granddaughter, Shiloh Day; another great grandchild to be born this summer; and a brother-in-law, Ray (Linda) Roorda of Arnold, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Annette (John) Pilon, a brother, Ken (Verna) Alberts, a niece, and two nephews.
