Vernon R. Boeckmann, after 89 years of living life on his own terms, has left this physical life. He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey June Boeckmann. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his children, Cheryl and Linda Boeckmann, Roger and Therese Boeckmann, Diane and David Mueller, Dawn and Mike Ready, Karen and Dan Franzen, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also to mourn his passing is his close friend, Joyce Maas. Viewing and services will be private. Wittkopp Funeral and Cremation Services of Plymouth is serving the family. www.wittkoppfcs.com

My name is Mary Bittner Kerofsky, We used to visit this family when we were young. I am the third child of Francis and Elaine Bittner both of whom have passed as well. I remember both of your parents as your parents and mine were good friends I believe. We used to eat dinner at your house and play in the backyard. My father once put a clothes pin on one of your cats when we came to visit and you were not home. He really did try and catch the cat but the cat was so damn fast. They can discuss that among other things now that they are all in heaven together. Life goes by so fast. I am sorry for your loss. I know our whole family grieves for you . I am now 60 years old and live happily in Moline Ill with my hubby. Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you.

Vernon's Family;

You have my deepest sympathy in loss of your Dad. I have many memories of him when he was with the sheriffs Dept. and also when he was Sheriff. My Mom and I went on many excursions with signs on the cars in the Election process. It must of helped as he was the Man who won. I remember babysitting you kids before the Election and many times after when your Mom and He had to go to meetings and sometimes just to get away. Usually always a soft spoken man with a listening ear and willingness to help. I remember one time he called me and they were looking for someone for a sub for the week for the game of Scott, which was played at the 5th wheel restaurant. Unfortunately couldn't as he never got around to really get me going into the game. Sheephead yes but not that. Remember he and my Dad putting the cabin at the Historical society in Sheboygan as well. They seemed to always have something they were working on. He was right there when my folks passed to ask if there was anything he could do. He was a neighbor up the street in Waldo, a Friend of the Family and a respected lawman. He will always be fondly remembered by our Family. You have our deepest sympathy in your loss.
