SHELBY-Mary Lee Reid Flack, 83, departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. She was born on Aug. 24, 1928, in Cleveland County to the late Edward and Nettie Mae Borders Reid.
Mrs. Flack was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingstown where she sang on the choir and was employed with P.P.G. until her health declined.
She enjoyed cooking and was known as the community cook in Kingstown. Everyone looked forward to coming over to her house for Sunday meals. Mrs. Flack also enjoyed playing and being with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Thomas Flack; three children, John Lee "Simp" Flack, Ray Thomas Flack Jr. and Kathy Brown; a sister, Florence McCleave and two great-grandchildren, Lynette Flack and Jamarrion Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are six sons, James Flack (Helen) and Charles Flack (Charliela) both of Kingstown; Calvin Flack (Deborah), Leonard Flack (Jamette) and Alvin Flack (Martha) all of Shelby and Robert Flack of Kings Mountain,; two daughters, Cora Miller (Gene) and Ernestine McCluney (John) both of Shelby; two additional daughters-in-law, Sarah Flack of Kingstown and Debbie Reid of Tallahassee, Fla.; a sister, Corrine Tate Pritchett of Philadelphia, Pa.; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three best friends, Lillie Spikes and Elnora Hunt both of Kingstown and Esther Whitworth of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church and at other times at the home of her daughter, Ernestine McCluney, 1219 White Avenue, Shelby
Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Palmer Grove Baptist Church

Ms. Mary will be missed greatly, I had the opportunity to take care of her and her husband when I worked at white oak. I will keep the family in my prayers..

To the family of "Mary L Flack", so very sorry to hear of her passing. Mary was a very sweet and a special friend to me.On the choir and while visiting her home we shared so many laugther and talk together. I will alway's cherish all of the fond remember that I shared with Mary and always. She was indeed a fun and loveable person. May "God Bless this family and her going home celebration.She indeed love our "Lord and Savior Jesus Christ".
