DALLAS - James Edward Smith, 87, of Blue Tick Lane, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Brian Resources in Lincolnton. Mr. Smith was born in Durham County on Dec. 20, 1926, a son of the late John and Gertrude Bane Smith.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of William and Jane Smith, 235 Poplar Hill Road, Dallas.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at Carpenter's Funeral and Cremation Services.
Burial will take place in Hardin Cemetery.
