ELLENBORO - Mary Rachel Greene Mathis, 69, of Short Road, Ellenboro, died on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
A native of Rutherford County, she was born on December 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Max Melvin and Minnie Bell Sheppard Greene. She was retired from Stonecutter Mills and was a member of Heaven Bound Baptist Church, Ellenboro.
She is survived by her brothers, James Samuel Greene of Ellenboro, Larry Greene and wife, Brenda, of Mooresboro, and Clyde Greene and wife, Faye, of Cliffside; her sisters, Hattie Banning of Mooresboro, Pat Conner and husband, Zeb, of Mooresboro, and Shirley Humphries and husband, Jerry, of Shelby; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service: Monday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery
Officiating: Rev. Chris Bowens
Visitation: The family will greet friends and family following the service.
Memorials: Heaven Bound Baptist Church, 285 Friendship Drive, Ellenboro, NC 28040.
