CHERRYVILLE-Frances Irene Campbell Hord, 85, of Mary's Grove Road, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, in Carolina Care after an extended illness.
Frances was born on July 8, 1927, in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Winfield Scott Campbell Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Fredell Campbell. She was retired from the Howell Manufacturing Company, a member of the First Baptist Church and with her late husband Carl David Hord, very active in the senior citizens of Cherryville.
Others that preceded her in death are brothers, J. R. Campbell, William "Bud" Campbell, W. Scott Campbell Jr., and Emanuel Campbell; sisters, Pinkie Sanders, Sue Sneed, Laura Annie Campbell and Wilma Davidson.
Survivors include a brother, John Campbell and wife Pat K. Campbell, Cherryville; sisters, Katherine Mull and husband Walter of Waco, and Louise Adams of Bessemer City; sisters-in-law, Vergie Campbell, Sue Campbell of Cherryville and Judy Campbell, of Shelby; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services. At other times, they will be at the home of John and Pat Campbell, 427 Paul Beam Road, Cherryville.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Cherryville
Officiated By: The Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner
Burial: Capernaum Cemetery, Waco, following the service
