THOMASVILLE - Stephen Lee Henderson, 71, a resident of Thomasville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Hinkle Hospice Home.
He was born Nov. 22, 1941, in York County, South Carolina, a son of the late Henry Lorance Henderson and Lillian Camp
Henderson. He was owner of Operators Distributing Inc. and attended Cedar Lodge Baptist Church. He was also a member of Neuma F. Reid Masonic Lodge in High Point.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gina Douglas.
Steve was married July 22, 1962 to Mary Allen who survives of the home.
Also surviving are three daughters, Amy H. Leach and husband Brian of Thomasville, Shelly Penland and husband Mike of Newton and Patty Braswell and husband Rob of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Amber Douglas, Steve McSweeney, Eli Douglas, Charlie McSweeney, Marylei Penland and Jacklyn Penland; son-in-law, Jeff Douglas of Thomasville; one brother, Rance Henderson and wife Betty of Morganton; four sisters, Patsy Tart of Roanoke Rapids, Kay Davis and husband Bill, Phyllis Campbell and husband Ed, and Vivian Rikard and husband Jerry, all of Kings Mountain.
Celebration of Life service for Steve will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Cedar Lodge Baptist Church of Thomasville with the Rev. Max Evington and Rev. Roy Cantrell officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
Memorials may be directed to Hinkle Hospice Home, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or Cedar Lodge Baptist Church, 1305 Cedar Dr., Thomasville, NC 27360.
