SHELBY- Donald Raye Cline Sr., 63, died Sunday June 30, 2013, after a long illness. Born in Bib County Georgia, he was the son of the late Buford Dempsey and Wilda Mae Reece Cline.
Raye was a member and Deacon of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Bostic. Raye was a member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460. He worked at PPG Industries for 26 years and later at Western Southern Life. He enjoyed riding Harleys, playing golf, carp fishing and watching TV. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, brother and son-in-law.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Beth Cline; and two companions, Daisy and Hootie.
Raye is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sandra Blanton Cline; two sons, Don Cline Jr. and wife Kim of Kings Mountain, and Zac Cline and wife Holly of Bladenboro; a step daughter, Britta Gramer and husband Eric of Morganton; his twin sister, Kaye Cline Polk and husband Frank T. of Shelby; Niece and Nephew, Barbie Sprouse and Burt Broughton; Father and mother –in-law, John and Thelma Blanton; Beth Chambers of Kings Mountain and Blair James of Shelby, who held a special place in Raye's heart; and his loyal companion Duke; and various other family members.
Visitation: The family will receive friends an hour before the service.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory and Masonic Rites given by the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460 AF&AM

Kaye, I was so sorry to hear of Raye's death. Raye was always so sweet and funny during our school days at Waco and then later at Burns. He will be missed but hold onto the precious memories of the life you shared with him. May God grant you strength and comfort in the following days, lifting you up in prayer.

We can't begin to say how very we are for your loss. We thought the world of Ray and of you. We will never forget him or that special little grin that only Ray could give! We will miss him but not say Goodbye...... Only "See you later". We will all be together again one day! He was an awesome person with a heart of Gold!
