Ledford, Jerry* - Blacksburg  
JERRY LEDFORD BLACKSBURG, S.C.-Jerry L. Ledford, 65, 1034 Holly Ridge Road, Blacksburg, S.C., passed away July 28, 2015, at home surrounded by family. Born in Cleveland County, N.C., he is the husband of Gale Moore Ledford of the home and a son of the late Bev and Vera Goforth Ledford. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was retired from Vulcan Materials. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Susan L. Mauney (Danny) of Blacksburg, S.C.; grandchildren, Bree, Daniel and Cheyenne Mauney; brothers, Gene Ledford (Frances) of Rock Hill, S.C., Bill Ledford (Linda) of Gaffney, S.C., Bobby Ledford (Nancy) of Polkville, N.C., Johnny Ledford (Kathie) of Grover, N.C., and Jimmy Ledford (Margaret) of Grover, N.C.; and sisters, Betty Ruff of Shelby, N.C., and Ann Ellis of Grover, N.C. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeff Ledford, and a sister, Cathy Dover. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Emily Byars for all her loving support. His brothers, Danny Mauney, Wayne Byars and Keith Ramsey will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, at White Columns. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2015, at Eastside Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Virgil Hampton and Dr. Eric Sellars. Burial will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. At other times, the family will be at the home. Online condolences may be made at Arrangements by White Columns.

JOEY LEOPARD CHESNEE – Joey Jay Leopard, 48, of 273 Sandclay Road, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at his residence. Born in Gastonia, he was the widower of Susan Black Leopard and the son of the late Edward Leopard and Ella Mae Holmes Gregory. The family will receive friends from 2 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street Blacksburg, SC 29702. Long, Brian* - Shelby  
BRIAN LONG SHELBY – Brian Kevin Long, 49, died Wednesday July 29, 2015, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet SC. Born in Cleveland County on March 29, 1966, he was the son of Hugh and Joy Camp Long of Shelby. Brian was a 1984 graduate of Crest High School. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where he played on the church softball team. Brian was a fabricator at Southco Industries for over 30 years. Brian was a loving, devoted father and husband. He was a God fearing, hardworking, loyal, loving man and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his best friend, high school sweetheart and wife of 27 years, Lee Ann White Long; their son, Jacob Alexander Long, of the home; a brother, Dale Long and wife Donna of Shelby; father and mother-in-law, Ken and Ann White of Shelby; sister and brother-in-law, Vlynda Greene and husband Roy of Shelby; and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday August 2, 2015 at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Dr. Rit Varriale officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
