HOWARD T. EMORY RUTHERFORDTON- Howard T. Emory, age 84, of Rutherfordton, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at his residence. Born March 4, 1930, in Spartanburg County, S.C., he was a son of the late Vernon Emory and Esmer Hawkins Emory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Arrangements by Harrelson Funeral and Cremation services. Fink, Worth Monroe* - Faith  
WORTH MONROE FINK FAITH-Worth Monroe Fink, 87, of Faith, entered the church triumphant on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014. Mr. Fink was born April 6, 1927, in Faith, a son of the late Harvey Boyden and Fannie Maude Brown Fink. Worth was educated at Faith School and retired from Cannon Mills Plant #1 in Kannapolis after working 49 years. A lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church, he was Church Treasurer for over 20 years, former council member, member of the Lutheran Brotherhood and Lutheran Men in Mission, Men's Bible Class, Faith Volunteer Fire Department and until his wife's death delivered Meals on Wheels. Mr. Fink received the Faith Civitan Senior of Year for 2014. He enjoyed baseball, fishing and gardening. Family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clarene Harwood Fink, five brothers, and one sister Survivors include sons, Rev. Ronald W. Fink and wife, Swannetta, of Cherryville and Rev. Kenneth W. Fink and wife, Vicki, of Monroe; brother, Larry Fink and wife, Carleen, of Faith; grandchildren, Susan Fink Shell and husband, Scott, of Cary, John C. Fink of Lincolnton, Matthew W. Fink and wife, Adrienne, of Cayce, SC; and great grandchild Maxwell Shell of Cary. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m., Friday, in the Family Life Center at Faith Lutheran Church. The service will be at noon, Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, conducted by the Rev. Bill Ketchie, interim pastor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Debt Reduction Fund, P. O. Box 669, Faith, NC 28041. RICHARD FOSTER SR. BOILING SPRINGS – Richard Lane Foster, Sr., 63, of 120 College Farm Road, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was born June 5, 1951, son of the late Bub and Hazel Campbell Foster. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Warren and Linda Glover. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Reanze Mode Foster of the home; two sons, Richie and Rocky Foster, both of the home as well; one daughter, Denise Nalley and husband Charles of Shelby; four sisters, Dorothy Smart and Wanda Owens both of Cliffside, Betty Powell and husband Marvin of Boiling Springs and Barbara Stafford of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Tommy Foster and wife Sherry of Ellenboro and Ronald Foster and wife Nancy of Cliffside; three grandchildren, Casey, Preston and Spencer Nalley; Brother-in-law, Gary Mode and wife Paula of Henrietta; sister-in-law, Diane Phillips and husband Roger of Boiling Springs; two nieces, Kristin McNelley and Leslie Phillips; nephew, Kevin Humphries; great niece, Kassie Humphries; and his very special buddy and companion, Scooter, his dog. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby with Rev. Bobby Steen officiating. Interment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park. Because of his love for animals, memorials may be made to The Clifford Fund, PO Box 370 Earl, NC 28038. Freeman, Elizabeth* - Polkville  
ELIZABETH FREEMAN POLKVILLE- Mrs. Elizabeth Towery Freeman, 88, of Polkville, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. She was the widow of Gulmer Jackson "Jack" Freeman and the daughter of the late Emma and William Towery. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hastings and two brothers, Bobby Towery and Junior Towery. Elizabeth loved and was loved by her family and by anyone who met her. She loved to sew, make quilts and can homegrown vegetables and she was an excellent cook. She was a great mother and grandmother to all of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Dennis Freeman and his wife Joan, of Greenville, SC, Clyde Freeman and his wife Rickie, of Ellenboro, and Gary Freeman and his wife Donna, of Polkville; her daughter, Brenda Freeman of Polkville; two sisters, Trudy Towery of Broadway, NC and Dorothy Wood of Forest City; a brother, Fred Towery of Broadway; a sister in law, Madeline Towery; There are 7 grandchildren, Leslie, Tammy, Lisa, Sean, Angela, Mitchel and Ken ; there are 16 great grandchildren, Nickki, Jada, Ashley, Emily, Alicia, Megan, Harlee, Morgan, Jackson, AJ, Austin, Savana, Madison, Kelsey, Luke and Luna; and 6 great great grandchildren, Brian, Benjamin, Silas, Yates, Aiden, and Clover. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home prior to the service. The Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service, with Rick Freeman and Rusty Freeman officiating. JAMES GARDNER James Kenneth Gardner, 74, of 111-1 Oak Street, Fallston, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby. He was born in Cleveland County on Aug. 24, 1940 to the late Andrew Vaughn Gardner and Edna Pendleton Gardner. He was retired from Hoechst Celeanse and was a member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia Greenway Gardner. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Fallston.
