Beatrice Cockrell

SHELBY-Mrs. Beatrice Jones Cockrell, 100, of Shelby, passed away at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center on Dec. 10, 2012. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Walton Jones and Maude Stevens Jones. Mrs. Cockrell was a member of Shiloh Presbyterian Church in Grover. She loved sewing, was an avid reader, sports fan and a very good homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Fred Cockrell Sr.; and her son, William Fred Cockrell Jr.
She is survived by her son, Phillip Andrew Cockrell and wife Bobbie of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; two daughters, Starr Peeler and husband Charles of Shelby, and Reita G. Cockrell of South Port; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Cleveland Funeral Services
Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel
