Betty Swink

BOSTIC - Betty Jean Hendrick Swink, 82, of 182 Lasar Drive, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Peak Resources in Shelby. Born on Feb. 6, 1932, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Mac Hendrick and Nellie Sue Canipe Hendrick.
Mrs. Swink was a member of Gilgal Baptist Church and retired from Drexel Furniture Company as a sander.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Swink.
She is survived by her sons, Bill Swink of Casar, Benny Swink of Bostic and Charles Swink of Hudson; daughters, Nellie Sue Spears of Hudson and Joyce Swink of Conover; Kelly Benbow of Bostic, whom she raised as her own child; brothers, Bob Hendrick and Jim Hendrick, both of Maiden; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston.
Funeral service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Hudson Memorial Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
