FALLSTON- Bill Houston Ashley, 83, of 5108 Fallston Road, passed away, July 8, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. Born September 6, 1926 in Cleveland County. He was a son of the late James Ashley and Mamie Blanton Ward Ashley. He was retired from maintenance for Overnight Trucking and was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Ivey Lee Ashley, James Ashley, Jr. and Gerald Ashley. Four sisters; Ruby Bridges, Lorene Cook, Helen Brackett and Joyce Tessener. He is Survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Sue Lewis Ashley; three daughters, Nancy Jones and husband, Danny of Fallston; Carolyn White and husband, Bill of Fort Walton Beach, Fl, and Robin Wilson and husband, Keith of Shelby; eight grandchildren; Tony Willis, Jason Willis, Wendy Theis and husband, Andrew, Jeff White and wife, Shauna, Haley Wilson, Lewis, David and Shane Jones; and ten great-grandchildren; Amber Willis, Melissa White, Kristin Jones, Michael Jones, Kayla Jones, Lacey Jones, Easton Theis, Stormy Willis, Dalton Jones and Alexis Jones. The family would like to extend a special thank you to, Dr. Potts, and all of the staff at Hospice Cleveland County.
Visitation: The family will receive friends, Saturday, July 11, from 5 p.m.–7 p.m., at Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston and all other times at the home of Nancy and Danny Jones, 127 Stamey Road, Fallston.
Funeral Services: Sunday, July 12, 2 p.m., at the Friendship United Methodist Church,
Officiating: The Revs, Terry Bevill and Cecil Buff officiating.
Interment: Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
